Commercial Systems
Invest in a Solar PV system from Green Planet and your business could benefit from an average return-on-investment of 10% courtesy of the Government’s Feed In Tariff (FIT) Scheme, which is a major component of the UK’s low-carbon strategy.
Not only that, but you can also secure your energy future, cut your carbon footprint and help create a greener planet. To turn redundant roof space into a source of revenue and display your green credentials to your customers, call Green Planet today to arrange your free survey.

Despite recent changes to the feed-in-tariff, a solar PV installation through Green Planet is still an excellent long-term investment, with an average return of 10%.
This we can achieve through our unique business model. We source commercial panels direct from the manufacturer, and we are also committed to only using high yield panels that give you maximum efficiency. We also strive to keep our costs and our prices low, ensuring that you get the best possible return on the money you invest.
Benefits of Commercial Solar Panels
Benefits of a commercial solar PV system:
- Turn redundant roof space into a source of revenue.
- Get paid for every unit of electricity produced.
- Significantly reduce your energy bills.
- Protect your business from rising energy prices.
- Increase value of property/rental yield.
- Cut your carbon footprint.
- Demonstrate your green credentials to your customers.
- Funding available via Carbon Trust/Siemans.
- Offset purchase against corporation tax.
The FIT scheme is designed to encourage businesses of all sizes to invest in small scale energy generation, the scheme offers payment for every unit of energy generated at a fixed rate (even the energy you use), guaranteed for 25 years, and index-linked.
Generating your own electricity also liberates you from the uncertainty of rising fuel bills. The installation of commercial solar panels will significantly reduce your energy bills, and not only that, it could also significantly add to the value of your property.
Carbon Trust & Siemens
Carbon Trust Implementation Services and Siemens Financial Services provide businesses with a range of affordable and flexible energy efficiency financing options. They offer leases, loans and other financing options from £1,000 upwards with no maximum to all types of organisations. All loans are structured in such a way that repayments are wholly met by income from the FIT. You can therefore benefit immediately from a solar PV system at no cost to your business. When repayments are met in full, you then also receive the full FIT income which is guaranteed for 25 years and index linked.

Green Planet installed this 168 panel (42kW) solar PV system on an Oxfordshire farm in November 2011.
The system was commissioned by the farmer, a long-time advocate and supporter of renewable energy technologies. Working closely with the client, Green Planet set about designing a bespoke PV system that made best use of the location and which offered the best yield and potential for return.
The system comprises of 168 250w high-efficiency Suntellite panels arranged in a single array with 3 ´strings´ and three SMA inverters. The solar array has been installed on the roof of a barn once used to house livestock, but now used as a storage facility for fertilizer. The barn is 140ft in length, runs east to west (south-facing) and has a roof angle of 30 degrees, making it the ideal location for a solar PV array. The three SMA inverters are situated in a purpose built housing within the barn itself.
Based on the SAP calculation this system will generate 36,052.8 kWh per year saving approximately 19,612.72 kg of CO2 over the same period. The system is expected to have paid for itself in 8-10 years and will go on to make a very healthy return over the course of its 25 year life.
In order to minimise disruption, Green Planet set out to complete the installation in just five days. Somewhat ambitious perhaps, but thanks to the hard work and dedication of the fitting teams this was achieved, much to the delight of the client, “I was somewhat sceptical about the promise to complete the installation in such a short period of time, but I needn’t have been. Green Planet delivered everything they said they would. The fitting teams were hard working, dedicated and knowledgeable and I was impressed by the level of professionalism and the quality of the installation which was finished to a high standard. I would be happy to recommend Green Planet to any company looking to make a similar investment. ”

Annual Output: 8584 kWh/year

Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Warwickshire countryside lies Oakridge Golf Course, a picturesque 18 hole parkland course boasting over one hundred acres of undulating fairways and carefully groomed lush greens.
The course was opened in 1993 and throughout its 18 year life, Oakridge has continued to develop as a business; and in 2011 it was this forward thinking approach that led Oakridge to invest in a 10 kWp solar PV system.
The system was commissioned by Shane Lovric, a long-time advocate and supporter of renewable energy technologies. Shane recognised that solar PV offered a fantastic opportunity to not only secure the energy future of the business, but also to make a secure long-term investment that would yield substantial returns on the initial investment over the course of the next 25 years.
The system comprises of 40 x 250w Suntellite panels and three Mastervolt XS3200SW inverters. The panels are arranged in three ‘strings’ across two adjacent roofs, both of which are south-facing and pitched at the ideal angle of 30 degrees – very much the perfect configuration for any solar PV array. With no overshading factors, one would anticipate that this system could well exceed the predicted annual yield of 8584 kWh, which will save 4432 kg of CO2 over the same period.
Shane was delighted with the finished system, and is looking forward to reaping the benefits over coming years,
“I am very pleased we chose Green Planet as a partner in this project. They made everything clear and easy to understand, and in the end it was an easy decision to make, both from a financial and ethical point of view, and we are pleased to be free from the uncertainties of future energy price increases.”
“The fitting teams were efficient and did a very neat and tidy job, and we would have no hesitation in recommending Green Planet to other golf clubs or organisations looking to make a similar investment.”
